Back in 1942 the "Officine Fontana" company received an order from the Italian war department to produce a professional watch for the pilots of the Italian Airforce and the officers of the U-boats. Due to the poliitcal situation at that moment the production was cancelled. Fortunately all original drawings, color samples and other usefull material was kept and in the year 2000 Mr. Italo Fontana, a cousin of the founder Mr. Ilvo Fontana, made his dream come true and launched the current U-Boat collection. All U-Boat watches come with a crown on the left side of the case. It is both a unique design and a very comfortable wear. The actual crown is secured by a massive yet stunning looking screwed-down crown protector. All models are individual numbered and their unique number is engraved in the right side of the case.

DIAL: black with luminous numbering, produced with superluminova added to coloured pigments. Diameter 50 mm.
