Peter Speake-Marin was born in Essex, England. After graduating from the Hackney Technical College in London as a watchmaker, he then went to the WOSTEP school in Switzerland to study horological complications. Upon his graduation he moved back to London to work for Somlo antiques, restoring various important timepieces. In 1996 he moved to Switzerland where he then worked making high end complications for Renaud et Papi (Audemars Piguet). After developing many important pieces for other brands, Peter decided to start his own watch brand in 2002. His many years restoring old British timepieces heavily influenced his designs for his collection. You can see it in the classic enamel dials and the shape of the beautiful blued spade hands that the collection is so well known for now.
