Ulysse Nardin Tellurium Johannes Kepler
Perhaps most known for the “Freak” he made for Ulysse Nardin, Oechslin has made many technically impressive pieces such as the first perpetual calendar watch in the world that can be set backwards. That doesn’t seem like a big deal, until you accidentally set yours too far ahead.
This particular piece is part of the “Trilogy of Time” collection of three astronomic watches Oeschlin developed in the 1990s. Some of the most complicated wristwatches ever made and this Tellurium is the final, and best piece of the trio.
The dial shows hours, minutes, month and Zodiac sign, sunrise, sunset, solar and lunar eclipses, a display of what half of the moon is in sunlight and a flexible bar showing what part of the earth is in sunlight/darkness.
Complementing this impressive array of technical features is a stunning blue champleve enamel dial. Turn the watch over and you’re treated to a completely hand engraved movement.
This is one of the very few “game over” watches. You show up to a watch enthusiast gathering with this and it’s game over!
The case is 18kt yellow gold and the strap is alligator with a 18kt yellow gold pin buckle.
