One of the enduring fascinations of a mechanical clock is the possibility of a deep insight into the subtle mechanics of its clockwork. Nobody can resist this magical attraction. While having a closer look at a ticking clock you may find yourself inevitably observing from the right or the left, from above or below, to fathom out from where the driving power comes and whence it goes.
The longcase clock NL 200 SQ is the skeleton version of the striking longcase clock NL 200 and allows these deeper insights. With harmoniously integrated cutouts in the complex main plates we have created a movement, which reveals more of its mechanical secrets than the fuller chapter rings of the non-skeletonized NL 200. If the clock strikes, a variety of aesthetically shaped and fine finished cadrature parts and wheels are set in motion on the right side of the movement to raise the two hammers of the melodious ding-dong strike on the two large bells.
Various bespoke possibilities
The going train and the dead-beat escapement that drive the heavy seconds beating pendulum belies how much knowledge and experience has to be employed in building such a clock. Characteristic of our designs are the many possibilities of bespoke individualization of clocks, tailored to personal needs and desires of its new owners.
Our clockworks offers date indications or further complications such as full calendar and moon phase. The case can be designed and implemented according to individual preferences in form and materials.
